Marriage LicenseE. Cronberg and David Nichols Ricketts obtained a marriage license on 30 September 1869 at Wayne County, Tennessee. There was no return on the marriage record.1 
(Witness) Marr-Note The marriage records are a bit confusing. In Sep 1865 as marriage license was issued to D.N. Ricketts and E. C. Vorhes, but this marriage was not performed until 10 Oct 1869. On 30 Sep 1869 a marriage license was issued to D.N. Ricketts and E. Cronberg/Cronsis (name hard to read). There was no return for this marriage indicating that it was not solemnized. The 1870 census indicates that David and Elvira were married in Oct 1869. It may be that the minister made a mistake and marked the return for the wrong license. It may be that E. C. Vorhes and E. Cronberg are the same person. I believe D.N. is David N. as he is the only one of that name/initial I have found in that area of Tennessee. His wife's name is Elvira as shown by the census and the gravestones. I found Elvira Voorhies in the 1860 census and her age matches Elvira's. I did not find any Cronberg/Cronsis in Wayne County.
